Film Review of Zombieland (2009)

Set in post-apocalyptic America, the film follows the story of four characters whose paths cross as they fight together across the country to survive. This ‘zomcom’ (zombie comedy) stars Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin with a hilarious, award-winning cameo appearance from Bill Murray.
Zombie movies have become increasingly popular over the past decade and this film has to be the best comedy adaptation to the zombie genre. Thanks to the skills of director Ruben Fleischer, the film received a number of awards and became the top-grossing zombie film in the United States.

Overall I would rate this film 4 out of 5

Film Review of Ride Along (2014)

Ride Along is a comedy revolving around a security guard played by Kevin Hart who wants to show his girlfriend’s brother a Police Officer played by Ice Cube that he is worthy of his sister. What starts off as Ice Cube setting Hart up for all the annoying jobs soon becomes serious and Hart is dropped into the deep end.

This film has plenty of action but more at a comedic level. I was really impressed by Kevin Hart’s acting skills in this film and it was no surprise that he was hilarious throughout. Whilst I enjoyed the film I won’t be watching it again anytime soon as its unfortunately one of those films you only watch once.

Overall I would rate this film 3.5 out of 5.

Film Review of In Bruges (2008)

When one of their jobs goes horribly wrong, hitmen Ray (Colin Farrell) and Ken (Brendan Gleeson) are ordered by their boss, Harry (Ralph Fiennes) to go to Belgium to lay low. Ray quickly grows tired of the town and after a series of peculiar events, the two find out the real reason behind their trip to Bruges.

This black comedy film is filled with laughs throughout while sticking to a strange but extraordinary storyline. Martin McDonagh does an amazing job as director of the film as we follow the story of Ray and his views on life.

Overall I would rate this film 4 out of 5

Film Review of This Is The End (2013)

This hilarious comedy written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, is set during the apocalypse, as James Franco is hosting a party at his new house in hollywood where appearances are made by countless celebrities.
Six Friends including Franco, Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson and Danny McBride are all trapped inside the house with limited supplies while danger surrounds the house. The film is packed with laughs, most of which are caused by jokes cracked at each others failed films.
Throughout the film these friends face many complications which keep the audience laughing all the way through.
If you love comedy and are a fan of these actors, this is a must-see.

Overall I rate this film 4.5 out of 5
