Captain
Phillips is a fantastic film based on a true story. In 2009 Somali pirates
hijacked the Maersk Alabama and Captain Phillips played by Tom Hanks a two time
Oscar winner was the man that stood in their way.
This film really focuses on
the battle between Captain Phillips and Barkhad Abdi who plays the Somali
Pirate Captain. It was a breakthrough performance by Abdi and left you with a
sense of realisation that this does happen in real life and its something that
I personally was left dwelling on after the film.
In my opinion it was some of
Tom Hanks best work I’ve seen for a while and the film really does keep the
view intrigued throughout the film.
Overall
I would rate this film 4 out of 5.
